Their production company Boycott…the Production works to cultivate and foster creative connection between juxtaposed communities in order to foster empathy, growth and healthy risk-taking.

Oakley Boycott is the kind of outlandish talent that Broadway used to harvest and write shows around; the sort of performer that has no better use for anyone but to be a musical comedy star.”

ECHO
perception is reflection

ECHO is a transcendent three-day endurance art performance that delves deep into the intricate relationship between perception and reflection. Initailly mounted in 2022, nestled amidst the awe-inspiring beauty of Sinks Canyon, Wyoming, alongside the tranquil Popo Agie River, this immersive experience unfolds within an open-air, transparent chamber and its surrounds.

At the heart of ECHO lies a profound exploration of our collective connection to mental health. Within the chamber, a two-way mirror serves as the boundary between the artist and their audience, providing a unique and thought-provoking twist to traditional performance art. As the artist engages in their unscripted journey, those who enter the darkened chamber bear witness to the artist's vulnerability without the artist being privy to their presence. ECHO's magic lies in the unspoken connection between the artist and their audience, an intimate dance of perception and reflection. The only way that the audience members and the artist can connect with each other is if the audience exits the darkened chamber just stand outside behind the artist, connecting via each other’s reflection.

Throughout this immersive experience, participating audience members are encouraged to document their thoughts and feelings, creating a tapestry of emotions and personal experiences related to mental health on the exterior walls of the mirrored chambers. ECHO transcends mere observation, inviting its viewers to become an integral part of the artistry, fostering a collective conversation about the complexities of the human mind.

ECHO unfolds over three consecutive days, with each day spanning eight hours, devoid of breaks and filled with moments of stillness and movement. Audience members have the freedom to come and go as they please, allowing the performance to adapt to the ebb and flow of their own lives and needs.

Intriguing, poignant, and transformative, ECHO challenges our perceptions, evokes introspection, and opens a window into the intricacies of our shared mental landscape. It is a testament to the power of endurance art to ignite conversations, inspire introspection, and offer a unique, unscripted, and deeply personal exploration of the human psyche.

ECHO is a three-day long endurance art performance piece, rooted in community relationship to mental health.

Seated in an open air, transparent chamber alongside the Popo Agie River in Sink Canyon Wyoming is the artist.

The front facing side of the chamber will be a two-way mirror so that the artist will be reflected back to themselves. A darkened chamber is connected to the opposite side of the two way mirror so that those who choose to participate by entering into the darkened chamber are able to see the artist but the artist is unable to see who is on the other side; to be seen without knowing who is watching. The only way for the “audience” and artist, to engage with each other is if the participant exits the darkened chamber to stand behind the artist, connecting via their respective reflections.

On the exterior walls of the mirrored chambers, participating 'audience' members will be encouraged to document what they experience during the performance or in relationship to their own mental health.

ECHO will take place over the span of 3 days for 8 hours a day with no breaks and limited movement.

Audience members may come for as long as they want or need.
